TIPS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2007

-The quickest, easiest way to lighten up your home is to change the color of your decorative pillows. Bring in lighter or brighter colors or go with some fun patterns.

-Put away heavy drapes in exchange for some sheers. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns & they’ll let the sun shine in.

-Spring cleaning can be tedious but, just think of all the stuff we’ve accumulated over the winter months. If you do not love it, use it or need it, than give it to someone who does. An uncluttered home feels lighter, more lively & you’ll have less dusting to do.

-Heavy rugs look right in the winter months and make you feel warm and cozy, but roll them up when the weather turns warm. Light weight cotton or sisal rugs work great. Have your heavier rugs cleaned & repaired so they’ll be ready to go in the fall.

-The spring/summer is also a great time to have your fireplace cleaned. Fill your firebox with candles or dried flowers. Find a decorative fireplace screen and place it in front of the opening.

-Bring the outdoors in! Get some new plants, flowers or create a centerpiece using a tray, shells, beach sand or river rocks. Than add some candles.

-Spend a bit of time creating a comfortable outdoor space. Some nice chairs and a table or a new umbrella or all weather chair cushions can add some life to your patio or yard. Add some potted plants, fun outdoor plates, cups and citronella candles.
